Lore

Shendelzare was set to be the next ruler of the Ghastly Eyrie, but her sister's betrayal took that from her. She got caught in an assassin's net and had to tear her own wings off to escape, left to stumble away on foot, which was the worst shame for a Skywrath. With her wings broken, she knew they'd never accept her as queen, and her sister was safe in the highest roost, reachable only by flight. Rather than live as a cripple without wings, she made a deal with the goddess Scree'Auk: she gave up her ruined body and became a spirit of pure vengeance, able to wreak havoc in the physical world. She'll never fly again, but she'll get her payback.
