Lore

The creature known as Leviathan is a champion of the Sunken Isles, but no one really knows what drives him. We humans worry about shipping lanes and trade routes, but beneath the waves, there's a whole world of warring Meranthic tribes, and their battles are just as fierce, just less visible. Leviathan got tired of the petty squabbles and decided to strike out on his own, serving only his abyssal god, Maelrawn the Tentacular. Now he prowls the shallows, hunting anyone who gets in his way, but he has a special place in his heart for Admiral Kunkka, his eternal rival. The reason for that grudge is lost somewhere in the deepest trenches, which is probably just as well.
