Rizzrack can't sleep. He just builds, in his uncle's workshop, day and night, trying to drown out the screams. He sees the bay, calm, then a cloud of pollen that kills. He remembers the vines strangling his neighbors, the trees breaking the gates, the city falling. He's been working on a saw-suit, something to make him safe, to fight back. He sharpens the blades, checks the chain, and finally, with a shaking hand, he sparks it to life. He's terrified, but he knows he has to face the trees that walk, fight, and kill. He won't like it, but he'll do it.
