Razzil Darkbrew inherited a family passion for Chymistry, but the young man had bigger ideas. He left the family trade to pursue Alchemy, and in a move that surprised no one who knew him, he announced he'd turn an entire mountain into gold. Twenty years of study, spending, and preparation later, the experiment failed in spectacular fashion, leaving a path of destruction that landed him in prison. Prison didn't slow him down. He convinced his new cellmate, a fierce ogre, not to eat him, then brewed a potion from the molds and mosses growing in the stones. When the ogre drank it, it went berserk, wrecking the cell, the guards, and the walls, until they both stumbled into a forest outside the city, unharmed and busy. The ogre, calm and content after the tonic, agreed to team up. Now they roam the wilds, gathering the ingredients needed for another shot at the great transmutation.
