Davion spent years hunting the legendary Eldwurm Slyrak, only to find a pitiful old dragon with tattered wings, rotting scales, and nubs for fangs. Its fire was about as threatening as wet matches. Seeing no honor in killing a dying relic, Davion turned to leave. But a voice whispered in his head, and Slyrak begged for death in combat, as a final honor. Davion agreed, and as he drove his blade home, the dragon stabbed him in the throat with a talon. Their blood mingled, and Slyrak sent all his power and ancient wisdom through the Blood Route into the knight. The dragon's death forged their bond, and the Dragon Knight was born. That power sleeps inside Davion, waking when he calls it. Or maybe it's the dragon doing the calling.
