Lore

Power is the only beauty that matters, Medusa now believes; but it wasn't always so. Once the youngest of three Gorgon sisters, she was mortal, while her siblings were immortal, and she found comfort in that fact. Then one day, masked raiders stormed their home, taking her sisters despite their beauty and pleas, and when they grabbed Medusa, they tossed her aside with disgust, calling her 'mortal' and useless. Humiliated and furious, she fled to her mother's temple, begging for power to rescue her sisters and avenge the insult. Her mother, a sea goddess, granted her request, trading her beauty for a terrifying strength. Medusa never looked back, knowing that power alone can change the world.
