Dragonus is stuck in a hateful position. He's a mage sworn to protect the Skywrath ruler, but he loathes the current queen, who took the Nest of Thorns in a coup. He was friends with the rightful heir, Shendelzare, and loved her, but he was too buried in his studies to notice the plot. Now Shendelzare is gone, transformed into a vengeful spirit, and Dragonus can't act against the Nest without losing his magic. He clings to his post, hoping to restore his beloved queen, but the real torture is knowing she probably hates him for not saving her. And only the goddess Scree'Auk knows his secret.
