Build timeline

What every item slot should be doing, minute by minute

00:00 — 10:00

Laning

Regen, stats and the first boots. Win the trade war, not the last hit count.

10:00 — 18:00

Tempo

Efficiency item or first utility spike. This is where the build decides the map.

18:00 — 30:00

Mid game

Core items complete. Force objectives while your power curve is ahead.

30:00+

Late game

Scaling and buybacks. Every extra item slot should answer an enemy threat.

Build FAQ

How the data is modelled

Where do these builds come from?

Item stages are the most purchased items per game stage for every hero, taken from OpenDota match data (itemPopularity) on patch 7.41. Win and pick rates come from the Immortal ranked bracket.

Should I always follow the core order?

No. The list is the highest-frequency default, not a strict order. Swap in situational items when the enemy draft demands a specific answer — silences, break, dispels or burst protection.

How often is the data refreshed?

Every hero is re-fetched from OpenDota on a rolling weekly cycle. Skill and talent orders are not modelled — the public API does not expose them, so hero pages show the real ability kits without invented level sequences.
