LGD roster enter free agency after their contracts expire together

Manager Babi said the change followed the agreed end dates rather than a disciplinary decision. The former lineup covered all five playing roles, so LGD must now decide which positions to rebuild.

The contracts ended on the same date

LGD assembled the roster for a defined competitive period that included The International 2026. According to the manager’s clarification, every agreement ended on 24 August. This creates a different situation from removing one player while the rest remain under contract. The five members can now consider their next steps, and LGD can decide whether to negotiate new agreements or build another line-up.

The shared expiry can make a full-team negotiation possible, but it gives every player individual freedom. A captain may value continuity while another member prefers a new region or role. Public discussion often treats a five-player roster as one unit, yet contracts and career decisions belong to each person. No source has confirmed that all five will sign together again.

The departing five covered every playing role

The active group included Yuma as carry, Topson in the mid lane, Wisper in the offlane, Thiolicor as soft support and KJ as hard support and captain. With all five contracts finished, LGD no longer has an active competitive core from that project. A replacement cannot be inferred from the role list. No new signing has been announced by LGD or by an incoming player.

Tournament databases still list the five players under LGD for TI 2026 and as free agents after 24 August. The previous LGD lineup remains the lineup that attended TI 2026. Its members are now free agents, but that does not retroactively make the event an unattached mix. They represented LGD during the tournament, and their contracts ended on 24 August.

Topson’s return had been arranged for the tournament

Topson joined LGD before The International after a late change to the team’s original plan. His presence gave the roster an experienced two-time champion in the mid role.

The end of the short contract now returns him to free agency with the rest of the line-up. It does not automatically mean retirement, another LGD agreement or a return to a former club.

Registration deadlines will shape the next decision

Dota teams need a complete roster before entering many qualifiers and events. Players may choose to stay together under another organisation, split into separate projects or negotiate new terms with LGD. None of those outcomes is confirmed by the contract expiry alone. The practical pressure comes from future tournament dates, but a deadline does not prove which option the players will select.

Free agency does not erase the team’s TI record

The matches played under LGD remain part of the organisation’s 2026 season. Contract status changes who is available next, not the result of a completed event. Statistics, placements and replays remain attached to the LGD roster that competed. Their free agency began after the event and does not change LGD’s recorded matches.

The shared expiry date explains why all five names became available at once. It does not prove that LGD rejected every player or that a new roster had already been signed. Each negotiation can now follow its own timetable, and a player could still agree fresh terms if both sides choose to continue.

For LGD, the immediate task is to decide which roles should remain together. A Dota 2 lineup needs more than five individually strong players: drafting responsibilities, lane partnerships and communication habits also matter. Keeping part of the group would preserve some continuity, while a complete rebuild would require those systems to be created again.

The players also gain control over their next step. Free agents can discuss offers without a transfer agreement between organisations, but a move is not complete until the new team announces it. Rumours about trials or talks should therefore remain separate from the confirmed fact that the previous contracts have ended.

The timing after The International gives teams a natural point for roster decisions. Results from the season will influence those choices, yet the expiry itself remains an administrative event. LGD’s next confirmed lineup should be judged from signed agreements and club announcements, not from assumptions based only on the five expired contracts.

Until LGD names its next roster, all five positions remain open questions rather than confirmed departures to specific teams.
