Every completed Dota 2 match has a numeric match ID. It identifies the game for replay downloads, statistics and support reports. It is different from a Steam account ID, friend code or lobby password.
The opened scoreboard should contain the same ten players and final result. This confirms that the correct ID was used.
Use the current method
Open the post-match screen or recent match history. Select the match and read the numeric ID shown in its details.
Enter that number in the replay or Watch search when the client still stores the replay. Third-party analysis sites also accept public match IDs.
Copy the number without spaces or extra text. Save the player name and approximate time separately when reporting a problem.
Check that the change worked
A replay may become unavailable after its storage period. The match ID can remain valid even when the replay file is gone.
For account questions, use the Steam ID or friend code requested by the service. A match ID cannot replace them.

Avoid common problems
Do not publish private account details together with a support ticket. Share only the identifiers needed for the case.
Very recent matches may take time to appear on a third-party parser. Check the Dota client first.
A custom lobby can have a match ID but limited public data. Privacy and parsing rules still apply.
Final check before a normal match
Repeat the method once in a fresh private lobby. Confirm the visible result, then return every temporary setting to its normal value. This short check prevents a practice command or experimental control from affecting the next ordinary game.
Game menus and internal commands can change after an update. When the current client does not show an option described here, use the visible replacement instead of forcing an old file or command. The saved post remains a draft so an editor can confirm the current interface before publication.
